To keep our yards squirrel-free:
And also to put our tennis balls to good use:
To make sure we always get up on time:
So they can protect us:
…And we can humiliate them:
No really, humiliation is one of the best parts:
But so is lifelong friendship:
And of course, there’s the cuddles:
To remind us we all make mistakes:
And also to alert us to potential dangers:
Because even the smallest of us needs looking after:
And, of course, someone needs to look after them:
I mean let’s face it, some of them are pretty dumb:
But they help us too because smiles are contagious:
Also, they remind us we need to get our exercise:
And that there’s more to life than the Internet:
Also, those bellies aren’t gonna rub themselves:
I mean, we all need someone to spoil:
And someone to come home to everyday:
