  1. Tumblr Gets Deep is always my fave, and yeah, this was a particularly good one. And I just learned that butterfly thing like 2 days ago – craziest thing I’ve heard in ages!!!

  2. Lots of alcohol but doesn’t taste like alcohol.

The answer you’re looking for is “Long Island Iced Tea.”

      1. OMG F*in’ Chu Hi…I knew guys that downed 6 packs like nothing. What can I say? We were Marines…Marines drink…
They had TWO Chu His…”Man…this ain’t s***, This is kool aid, yo…”…goes to stand up…almost falls over…

  3. As far as the living forever thing goes it may very well be that a lot of people here may live to be well over 1,000.

    No, seriously. Hear me out.

To start the projected lifespan of someone born in the 80’s who is alive today is around 150 years if life expectancy continues to grow at its current rate.

So that’s a LOT of time for medicine to catch up to when we’ll need it to extend our lives.

What kind of medicine? Holy shit, where to begin?

Seeding Organs – We’re already able to grow organs that are genetically identical to a person by taking a donor organ and washing away everything but the cellular scaffolding, then take that scaffolding and seed it with the patients cells. Better yet, the donor organs don’t need to be human, they can come from any animal. We’ve done this with every organ (even lungs) with lab animals and have already had successful surgeries on people.

3d Printed Organs – Then there’s also the fact that we can soon (like in 10 to 20 years) just straight up print out new organs for people. This is currently only in labs so far.

And for the person going “But who wants to live to be 1000? I don’t want to be that old!” there’s the fact that we’ve actually pinned down what aging is and learning how to stop it. Basically your cells have a thing called “telomeres” and they degrade with every cell dividing.

Oh and let’s not forget that bionics are coming too.

Aside from medicine on the technological side we’re at the start of the nano and genetic revolution which will both be just as big as the internet revolution.

Genetics are going to fix world hunger, general health, birth defects, and a laundry list of other things.

While Nano tech is going to fix fucking EVERYTHING. And I mean EVERYTHING. Phones that don’t break and charge for the month in seconds. Cars that don’t need maintenance and get absurd mileage. Solar panels that power your whole house by only covering the roof. Skyscrapers miles (MILES!) high. Tunnels bored through the crust of the Earth. Elevators to space and one on the back of the moon to the rest of the solar system. Mines on asteroids. Telescope satellites with lenses further apart than the width of the Earth. Every mineral we could ever need.

And finally there’s the AI revolution. First off, war and labor? Done. Fucking done. Good luck fighting an army that can monitor every single conversation in an entire country, that has robotic snipers every city block, and swarms of armed quad drones. And good luck finding work when every McDonald’s is automated and every doctor is a database of every known medical issue.

But the biggest thing is that it’s estimated that in 30 years we’ll hit the technological singularity.

You see, every 2 or so years computers double in power. In ~30 years computers will be about as intelligent as a human. At that point that computer can design a computer that is better than it is. Then that computer can design a better computer. And that one can design a better computer. And on and on and on. And before we know it there’s nothing we won’t know.

Meanwhile we’re terraforming Mercury, Venus, the Moon, Mars, Europa, Ganymede, Io, Callisto, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. While at the same time redesigning ourselves to live in those environments, creating virtual worlds, and building generational intergalactic ships.

Of course all of this is only possible if protect ourselves from annihilation from the biggest threats:
    -Corruption
    -Religion
    -Pollution
    -Financial Collapse
    -Ecollogical Collapse
    -Terrorism
    -Nuclear War
    -Yellow Stone Exploding
    -Magnet Poles Flipping
    -Asteroids
    -Solar Flairs
    -Cosmic Gamma Rays

      1. TL:DR,

there is gonna be unbreakable iPhones in the future, but also there will always be a new model every few years!

    1. I want a series of videos where Dick Weasel outlines his/her plan for protecting ourselves from the last five items on the list.

    2. I like the idea of a solar flair.

Sun be like, all, Yo, check out my bling! and we be all like chillaxin’ and then the solar flair hits the Earth and all our cellies stop workin’ and Soviet radar detects the flair as a nuclear launch and then boom it’s all over with…

Or maybe that’s not what he meant.

(I actually read it all. He’s got some excellent points.)
