30 Times Rich People Were Wildly Out-Of-Touch With How Everyone Else Lives

When I was a kid, my mother, a single mother, struggled to make ends meet, and I can vividly remember a time I overheard her counseling one of her wealthier friends, who was beside herself trying to choose between two colors of paint for her new kitchen remodel.

After listening to the friend present her “problem,” my mom, in the kindest way possible gave her opinion: “I feel like as long as your kids are eating out of that kitchen, the color doesn’t really matter.”

It was silent for a minute, and I think her friend realized she had lost a little perspective.

Now, “problems” are definitely subjective, and it’s unfair to simply invalidate someone else’s struggles simply because they are not yours, but it’s also difficult to identify with the lifestyles and struggles of people whose issues fall outside the hierarchy of needs (shelter, food, etc).

The following Twitter thread highlights some of these wildly out-of-touch rich people, perhaps even well-meaning failed to remember much of the 98% lives outside of their bubble.

1. Influencer Bilal Harry Khan recently tweeted about the disconnect between the classes, and it rang true for many other Twitter users.
