If the sign causes more confusion than clarification, then it’s a stupid sign. If there didn’t need to be a sign in the first place but there is one and it makes no sense, that’s also a stupid sign. We trust signs, we expect a sign to guide us and help us make sense out of this crazy disordered world. So a sign that doesn’t function is way more offensive than just your plain old everyday bad design. If you see these in the wild, tear them down. You’ll be doing us all a favor.
