There’s an episode of Freaks and Geeks in which Lindsay Weir, desperate for popularity, throws a kegger while her parents are out of town. In an effort to contain the situation, her younger brother and his friends replace the actual keg with a keg of non-alcoholic beer. Everyone at the party, totally oblivious to the switcheroo, becomes convinced that they’re getting drunk.
I’ve always been a bit dubious about this premise and the power of suggestion, but I may have just seen some video evidence to indicate that this sort of party prank could actually … work?
Anna Greenwood, a student at Central Michigan University, recently decided to up the ante on her partying enjoyment by bringing a Wii remote into a frat party and convincing other partygoers that it was a vape pen.
If you were curious about what the placebo effect looks like when people think they’re smoking weed, then your curiosity officially ends here.

Wow, what a wholesome, fun activity for the entire party! I wouldn’t be surprised if sucking on remotes becomes the new millennial preoccupation (like biting into Tide Pods).
