Infinity War is dropping April 27th and in case you’re foaming at the mouth for more MCU nuggets, feel free to snack on some random facts you most likely didn’t know until now.

Tom Holland Found Out He Was Playing Spider-Man By Scrolling Through Instagram

Imagine it. You’re doing your morning routine of lounging in bed and peeping IG when you find out your life is changed forever. That’s what happened to Tom Holland.

“I was in my bed scrolling through Instagram. It had been about a month since my audition. And Marvel just posted a photo saying go to our website and find out who the next Spider-Man is,” he recalled. “I went on the Marvel website on my computer and there it was: The new Spider-Man is Tom Holland. I went ballistic, like absolutely nuts.”

Why doesn’t Instagram give me good news like that?

Black Panther Was Teased In The MCU As Far Back As ‘Iron Man 2’

Iron Man 2 (screengrab)

Black Panther’s fictional country of Wakanda briefly appears on a map in the background of a scene in Iron Man 2., meaning T’Challa and Wakanda have been on the cards since 2010. Kevin Feige, you clever bastard.

‘Thor’ Was Full Of Hidden Easter Eggs

Marvel

The tiny New Mexico town where Thor and his hammer are found after being exiled is named, “Puente Antiguo,” AKA “Ancient Bridge,” which is likely a nod to the colorful Bifrost bridge the Asgardians use to travel to different worlds in the realm.

‘Iron Man 2’, ‘The Incredible Hulk’, And ‘Thor’ All Happen In The Same, No Good, Very Bad Week

Marvel

When Marvel released the timeline for their cinematic universe, we all felt a little bad for that universe’s Earth, which had to deal with Whiplash, Hulk smashing everything, and that big Loki-controlled robot all in the same week.

Chris Evans Wanted To Turn Down The Part Of Captain America

Marvel

Captain America himself really didn’t want to take on the part. Evans was so burned (heh) by how poorly received his role as The Human Torch in the first Fantastic Four was that he was very hesitant to sign on to what may have been another total bomb, especially with an original 9-film commitment. Luckily, he negotiated down to 6 films and put on the star-spangled suit.

Tony Stark Isn’t The Richest Avenger

Marvel

Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist Tony Stark may have a lot of cash to his name, but he’s actually worth five times less than T’Challa, king of the vibranium-rich country of Wakanda. Royalty has its perks.

Robert Downey Jr Hasn’t Worn The Iron Man Suit Since The First Movie

The last time RDJ actually wore the full body suit was in the 2008 feature film. That’s because a big metal suit is, well, heavy. Once Downey Jr realized the special effects team could digitalize the whole process, he stopped wearing the suit. Each and every time you’ve seen Tony Stark in the suit since the first film, it’s either CGI or a shoulder/helmet combo used for close-ups.

The Birds Are Snitches

Marvel

In the very first Avengers, when Thor is arguing with Loki after abducting him from the plane, two ravens are seen flying by, cawing. These birds are most likely Muginn and Huginn, the agents of Odin, who can also be spotted flanking Odin’s throne in Thor and Thor 2.

Jeff Bridge’s Villain Gave Away His Intentions When He Played The Piano

Marvel

In the first Iron Man, villain Obadiah Stane is playing a classical piece halfway through the movie while speaking to Tony. The piece in question is called, “Larghetto,” composed by Salieri.

Salieri, if you’re not a music aficionado was the bitter rival of Mozart, famed for his jealousy and resentment for the music legend, whom many believe went as far as to plot the musician’s death. Sound familiar to the plot of Iron Man?
