Two Firefighters Walked Up And Down 110 Flights Of Stairs At The Gym In Full Gear To Honor Victims On 9/11

On September 11th, 2001, America was forever changed. If you’re a New Yorker like myself, you probably remember where you were at the exact moment someone told you what was happening in downtown Manhattan.
I was in my 3rd-grade class learning about vocabulary when Ms. Swengros had stopped her lesson and pulled us aside. People were called out of class. We were spoken to in hush, calm, and empathetic voices. People were scared beyond belief.

Years later, the emotions feel exactly the same when any one of us discuss the tragic events that took place on September 11th. With countless people losing their lives, brave individuals risking theirs, and the entire nation coming together as one–we always try to find a way to honor each and every father, mother, daughter, son, uncle, aunt;hero.

Two firefighters found a way to honor those who lost their lives, running into smoke-filled buildings to save innocent individuals who just woke up that morning to go to work. Dressed in their full gear, they went to a local Planet Fitness and walked 110 flights–up and down–on the Stairmaster–the same number of flights there were in the World Trade Center.

Chelsea Farmer shared the videos to her Facebook page, citing that they started at 8:46 a.m.–when the first tower was hit on 9/11.

People on Facebook were touched by the small, but meaningful gesture these two men decided to do.

Thank you to all of those who risk their lives, on September 11th, and every day, to keep our nation, communities, and people safe. We appreciate the sacrifices you make every day when you go to work. God Bless.
