Diana Andrews is a bodybuilder, and she apparently applies the high standards she has for her own body to strangers she sees at the gym. She captured some footage of a woman on a treadmill, then wrote the words “love handles” underneath her, and posted it to Instagram. As if that wasn’t already bad, she posted another picture with the words, “I bet she’s ordering [burger emoji, burger emoji, burger emoji] for delivery” which is both mean and doesn’t make sense, because 1) She’s running on a treadmill not using Postmates, and 2) Come on, she’s literally actively trying to get in shape, lady. Andrews thought it was a good idea to send that out to all 17,000 of her followers.
No, this is not a rehash of the Dani Mathers saga. That’s the Playboy model who faced jail time after she Shapchatted an older woman with a body she didn’t think was so great showering at the gym, so as to body shame her. Andrews learned nothing from that and did pretty much the same thing.
As Mathers did, Andrews offered an apology via the same Instagram account by which she body-shamed another woman, and then took the account private.
Im writing to express my sincere apologies for my action. I realised that I was wrong to make this silly joke. It wasn’t my intention to body shame, hurt or disrespect anyone. Thank you guys for all your messages and continued support
Nevertheless, screenshots of the original post made their way around the internet. And that’s when the backlash began.
