Our world was rocked this week when, seemingly out of nowhere, the new trailer for Detective Pikachu dropped. Yep. This is a live-action film in which the titular electric rodent is voiced by none other than Ryan Reynolds and wears an adorable hat to help him solve Pokemon-related crimes.
Just see for yourself:
Naturally, the memes and tweets starting coming and they haven’t stopped coming. Despite potentially heavier hitters like Avengers and Star Wars are releasing this year, it seems more and more people just want to inject Detective Pikachu directly into their veins.

I know it’s a little early for 2020 Oscar predictions, but I think Ryan Reynolds is a lock for best actor to say “putz” while playing Pikachu in a live-action Pokemon moviehttps://t.co/NsMV16Uzg2

Cigarette in mouth, Jynx puts on her heels. Detective Pikachu takes another swig of Jack Daniels.

What you said about your moth-
Detective Pikachu hurls the whiskey past Jynx’s head. It shatters near the door.
