When I was a kid the coolest thing at school was the playground. You had a slide that would both burn and electrocute you, you had monkey bars that were 47ft off of the cement ground, and you had a steel carousel that the older kids would spin you on so fast it’d make an astronaut throw up. I loved all of that, but these improvements are, well, improvements.
1. This school has a slide direct from classroom to playground. Childhood dream.
2. My school’s periodic table.
3. Hate getting stuck behind slow people on the stairs? My school just put these in everywhere on campus.
4. New preschool in Japan collects rainwater into puddles for kids to play in.
5. My school has skateboard parking.
6. Technical University Munich put slides in their building. I’m pretty jealous.
7. Our local high school has solar panel tables with USB outlet ports for students to charge their devices.
8. This vending machine at my school sells various school supplies.
9. My daughter’s first-grade classroom has desks with pedals so kids can move while learning.
10. My university has coasters that can test your drink for rape drugs.
11. This just got installed at my school. A public workbench for your bicycle complete with tools and a QR code for common repair help!
12. My school has a nap room.
13. This Japanese kindergarten is built around a tree.
14. My cooking class has a mirror on the ceiling so we can see what the teacher is doing.
15. My son’s homework has a barcode that when scanned takes him to an instructional YouTube video posted by his teacher related to the lesson.
