Not everything in 2020 has been a train wreck. An upside to everyone having to stay in quarantine is the number of pet adoptions went through the roof. These animals will now hopefully get to live out the rest of their lives in comfort and peace. A silver lining.
While it’s disgusting the way these animals had been treated in some of these before pictures, it really shows you what some love and attention can do for these pets.
1. I walked into a Petsmart and met a cat named Sonny who no one would adopt because he was 13 years old, covered in fleas, underweight, and had a mouth full of rotten teeth that had to be removed. He came home with me that night and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
4. Miley, who came to me as a hospice foster dog since she wasn’t expected to live and we just wanted to make her comfortable. This is her, a year and a half later!
7. This is River. At the shelter, he was shaved as his fur was extremely matted and riddled with flees. He had coccidia and conjunctivitis. After some medicine and tlc, he’s doing amazing! He’s the most loving and affectionate kitty ever, always snuggling up and kissing me! I’ve had him for 4 months.
8. It’s been 4 months since I caught Marley and her puppies. She was living as part of a feral pack for 13 months after being abandoned, and it took me 3 months to gain her trust. She seems to know everything’s going to be alright now.
10. Patron was found discarded in a trash bag on the side of the highway at 4 weeks old. 8 weeks later, he’s a very happy boy and we couldn’t love him more!
15. Found this beautiful girl tied up on the highway. Vet said if she wasn’t taken in she would’ve probably died that night. Took her months before she would even be in the same room with anybody and now she spends all her time with her favorite people and her four animal siblings. I love her so much.
20. I adopted 13 year old Phyllis one year ago today! She came in emaciated, flea anemic, and with a 5 lb tumor on her side. No one thought she was going to make it and here we are one year later! Happy adoption day, my little Philly Cheesesteak!
