Stephen Colbert Joins Twitter In Roasting Jeff Bezos During Late Night Monologue

Stephen Colbert joined the internet in roasting Jeff Bezos after he announced he’ll be stepping down as Amazon’s CEO during his Tuesday night monologue on The Late Show.

Colbert says, “Before leaving office he will be cocooned in bubble wrap and put in a box eight times his size. Maybe throw in a little SD card, something like that.”

In the monologue, Colbert cites a report from the BBC that claims Bezos “could have given all 876,000 Amazon employees a $105,000 bonus and still have been as wealthy as he was before the pandemic.”

“Key phrase there: Could have given. So on one hand, he’s an obscenely-rich plutocrat who hoards wealth as those employees not yet replaced by robots have to pee in bottles for lack of bathroom breaks. But on the other hand, he greenlit Fleabag.”
