People Who Grew Up Poor Are Sharing Unwritten ‘Rules’ They Followed (23 Pics)

I can’t say I grew up poor but I grew up around people from all sorts of backgrounds. It’s interesting how we all kind of fall into whatever role society has decided based on our lifestyle.

Growing up, my mom never used the heat in the winter or the A/C in the summer. It was the most physically uncomfortable situation but the older I got, the more I understood why we would leave the oven open after we were done making dinner.

Also, that’s a great lifehack you can use yourself. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor. There’s no point in wasting that free heat so just prop that oven door open after your done.

People who grew up poor are sharing the unwritten rules and social expectations they had to live by in this thread and it may be eye-opening for some if you grew up comfortably.
