There are 2 types of food order fails. One is the restaurant’s mistake and the other is when the customer has no idea what they’re ordering.
Whenever a server has brought me the wrong order at a restaurant I hesitate to send it back. There are very few circumstances I will say anything because I don’t want to piss of the kitchen staff. I know too many people who’ve worked at restaurants.
The only time this can backfire if it’s just the completely wrong order. If it was meant for another table I might actually make things worse because now it has to be remade. These are the things that cross my mind at a restaurant so maybe it’s a good thing I can have everything delivered.
It’s not always the restaurant’s fault. Sometimes the customer is an idiot who has no idea what they’re ordering. This Twitter thread reminds me of the time I tried to order a “5 alarm burger” but asked them to remove each spicy topping. The server looked at me and said, “so you just want a burger?” I felt like a complete moron.
