Hey, Maybe We Don’t Need To Connect Everything To The Internet? (22 Tweets)

Sometimes it feels like we’re living in the future. I’m a millennial and I love tech gadgets but I draw the line at cameras in my home and toothbrushes that need firmware updates.

Aside from the risk of hacking and data concerns, I just have enough stuff to update and keep track of. I’ve been avoiding updating my laptop for months so I can’t imagine needing to vacuum and having it not work because I forgot to run a software update.

On the other hand, having to get up and shut the lights off after you’re already in bed also sucks.

These tweets shine a light on how inconvenient it is when the internet is down and your vacuum won’t work. It will make you think twice about getting a “smart device” for your home. The future is now.
