If you were a theater kid then you can relate to the nervous feeling of potentially forgetting your lines or completely messing up in front of all of your peers. I tried theater once and it wasn’t for me. There was one scene, however, where the backdrop fell and would’ve landed on top of the entire cast but I happened to be there to catch it. That was my only contribution to that play and it made up for me not remembering my lines.
Having tried it, I can appreciate the productions schools pull off on a low budget. Sometimes they’re amazing but there’s no telling when theater fails will happen when you’re working with kids.
Twitter user @nathancykiert tweeted a pretty gnarly theater fail where a friend of his was playing Peter Pan but entered the scene in a little more epic fashion. Luckily no one was injured and he didn’t miss a beat. The kid just went on acting as if nothing happened and if anyone deserves a Tony Award, it’s him.
The clip went viral and now others are chiming in with funny stories and clips of their own theater fails and school plays gone wrong in this thread.
