Movie Posters In Russia Are…Different (18 Pics)

Before today, I had no idea that Russian movie posters looked so different than they do here in the U.S.

Obviously, the language translations will add a different look to it, but Russia is actually known for they’re own unique style dating back to the early 20th-century. At the time, Hollywood film posters peddled romance and glamour, but Russia avoided the easy marketing of celebrities and focused instead on creative design.

When their style is applied to American movie posters, it looks a lot different than what we’re used to seeing. Here are some of the best examples we found.

1. 50 First Dates

2. Ice Age: Continental Drift, Surrogates, Terminator 2: Judgment Day

3. Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over

4. Bruce Almighty

5. Alien vs. Predator

6. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

7. Friends with Benefits, The Fast and the Furious

8. Hancock

9. Shrek 2, Avatar

10. The Crimson Rivers

11. Peter Pan, Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid

12. Alice in Wonderland

13. Bridget Jones’s Diary, Kill Bill

14. Sex and the City 2, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

16. Troy
