When I’m on a plane and watch the flight attendants hard at work helping passengers, closing overhead compartments, and making announcements, I always assumed that was part of the job and that they were getting paid. So you’d think.

A viral tweet posing the question, “Should flight attendants be paid during boarding?” has sparked quite the outrage from folks who also assumed that they were getting paid from the moment they set foot in the airport. That’s not the case…in the United States at least.
