Professor Offers Extra Credit If Students Make Memes About What They Learned (20 Memes)

Most days, I’m glad that I’m not in school anymore. It seems like it would be much harder for some reason. I’m always fascinated to learn what teachers come up with to engage with their students. My current favorite idea comes from Janna Haider a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Every quarter she gives her students an extra credit assignment to make a meme about something they covered in class. This quarter she taught US History from approx 1815-1920(ish), and the kids from UCSB’s HIST 17B class had some spicy takes.
