40 New Dark Humor Comics With Unexpected Endings From Artist Dmitri Piankov

Dark humor is a style of comedy that makes light of subject matter that is generally considered taboo, or maybe a little edgy. When it’s done well, it’s hilarious. Using illustrations and visual gags to execute the joke is even better. That’s exactly what artist Dmitri Piankov is doing with his comics.

Dmitri, a former comedian, is known for crafting dark humor comics with unexpected endings. His latest work, “Drawings from Pictures,” presents a series of random images that follow a pre-story.

Dimitri goes through several creation stages to bring his comics to life. He starts by brainstorming several ideas and then sends them to his friends for feedback. After that, he takes the best ideas and sketches the best versions. Finally, he asks his girlfriend to translate the comics into English.

Here are some of our newest favorite dark humor comics with unexpected endings created by Dmitri (and don’t miss the first post here.)
