Candidate’s Job Offer Revoked And Blacklisted For Requesting Benefits And Title Change

Although it sounds ridiculous, job offers can apparently be revoked for something as simple as asking about employee benefits or requesting a change in the job title.

One Reddit user recently shared their shocking experience of being blacklisted by a recruiting agency for making these seemingly innocuous requests. The candidate’s job offer was revoked after they asked to see the company’s employee benefits and requested that the job title be changed back to the one that was advertised to them.

In the email they shared on Reddit, the recruiting agency stated that the person’s requests for changes and pre-approval for future vacations were not normal and left a poor impression on the team. As a result, the agency revoked the job offer and discontinued their partnership with the person as a potential future candidate.

Here’s the rather shocking email the candidate received along with reactions from readers in the comments section.

1. “Job offer rescinded and blacklisted from a recruiting agency because I had the *gall* to ask to see the company’s employee benefits and for the title of the role to be changed back to the one that was advertised to me”
