Boss Assumes Worker’s Task Will Take No Time, But Ends Up Taking 3 Days When It Would Have Taken 3 Hours If He’d Just Listened To Employee

Time management in the workplace is important, but sometimes your boss has no clue how things work as proven by this post on the Malicious Compliance subreddit, shared by u/SadowSon.

They tell the story about their boss who was condescending towards onboarding a new staff member into the company’s system, assuming it was an easy task. The new employee asked for a few hours to finish the task, but the boss shot down the request and instead suggested making a half-page guide.

Well, turns out the guide ended up being a whopping 34 pages long and it took the employee three whole days to finish it. So much for time management in the workplace. This story is pure gold and definitely one of the most satisfying malicious compliance tales I’ve come across in a while.
