My kids are at Wizarding Camp this week, so Harry Potter is very top of mind for me, especially the parts of the books and movies that make no sense — which, as this recent viral Twitter thread would seem to indicate, is quite a bit.
The whole “protected by Lily’s love” spell that keeps Harry safe from “he who shall not be named,” for example, what does that mean? Is he just protected from Voldemort? Or from being killed by Voldemort? Or is Harry protected from every cut and bruise and, it stands to reason, from ever dying?
