In today’s fast-paced gig economy, where services are readily available at the click of a button, there exists a frustrating reality for many workers: the lack of consideration when it comes to tipping. Whether it’s a food delivery, a ride-sharing service, or a handyman completing a task, the expectation of a fair tip is often overshadowed by a prevailing mindset that devalues the contributions of these hardworking individuals. The gratuity, once a gesture of appreciation for quality service, has become an afterthought or, in some cases, entirely disregarded.
In a recent viral Tiktok, one Instacart shopper shared a now viral video of her dropping off groceries to a customer who only tipped her $3 on a 27 item, $140 dollar order. Plus, they expected her to carry them all up 3 flights of stairs.
The shopper was not having it.
At the top of these stairs, the customer argued that she no longer even deserved the $3 tip at all.
So that is what happened.
