Walking alone at night is an experience that many women know all too wellโa time when the world can transform into a place of vulnerability and apprehension. From dimly lit streets to deserted alleys, the shadows that cloak the night harbor a multitude of dangers that disproportionately affect women’s safety.
Recently, one woman, Tia Zakher (@tiazakher),ย shared her “hack” for being able to work as a delivery driver at night while still feeling safe enough to do so.
Tia works as an UberEats driver in Montreal. In addition to a mask to hide her face, she also wears a hoodie, hat, and men’s pants to complete the disguise.
This sparked a discussion about the differences men and women feels walking around safely at night. Like most women, Tia feels more unsafe at night. but makes way more money delivering then.
