No matter your thoughts on Donald Trump, our former Commander-in-Chief, you have to admit that a presidential mugshot is one for the history books—right next to the section where they talk about that time Rudy Giuliani mistook a landscaping shop for a luxury hotel.
Trump’s recent arrest in Georgia wasn’t exactly an “Oprah’s Favorite Things” moment, but for meme enthusiasts, it was like Christmas in August. The memes that followed were as abundant as his hair is…unique.
The Donald, striking a pose Derek Zoolander would call “overly committed,” looked like he was halfway between “stealing Christmas” and launching a new fragrance. It’s hard to decide if he’s channeling his inner Grinch or auditioning for the next season of “America’s Next Top Model.”
With the lineup of co-defendants reading like a ‘Who’s Who’ of “Wait, who?”, the only thing missing from this bonanza was some popcorn and a 3D glasses option. If politics were a movie, this chapter might be directed by the Coen Brothers. Ridiculous, improbable, but oh-so-watchable.
