You stumble into a dimly lit room, which is just the way you like it—dim enough to keep the world at bay but bright enough for you to locate that D20 you’ll inevitably drop. Around you, the atmosphere screams, “This room hasn’t been vacuumed since the ’80s,” which is coincidentally the same vibe your D&D sessions give off. At the center of this chamber, you spot an ornate desk—a holy relic in this kingdom of forgotten objects and nostalgia. Among the mess of papers and ancient Cheetos, your eyes lock onto a book.
The cover reads: “The Big Book of Internet Memes, Vol 7 – Dungeons and Dragons Edition: Now With Extra Sarcasm.” Weirdly specific? Sure. On-brand? Absolutely.
You’re not a hundred percent sure what’s going on in your campaign anymore—you’ve been playing the same session for months, and the “main quest” is currently taking a backseat to “can we teach the dragon how to crochet?” But hey, memes? Those are the universal language.
So you sit down at this chair that’s less “Throne of Swords” and more “OfficeMax clearance,” open the book, and prepare to escape into the same lore you ironically but lovingly mock each week. Is this what adulting is? Probably not, but let’s roll with it. Literally.
