Well, it’s official, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are apparently a thing, but when you think about it, it makes sense. One of them writes songs that may or may not be about every dude she’s ever made eye contact with, and the other catches footballs for a living.
Okay, maybe it doesn’t really make all that much sense, but it’s a thing.
Taylor Swift is out there, winning Grammys, acting in movies, and crooning her way through the Eras Tour, which, by the way, is slaying.
On the other side of this cosmic seesaw, we have Travis Kelce, jersey number 87, and he’s about as subtle as his on-field celebrations. If you’re not familiar, he’s a Pro Bowl tight end with two Super Bowl rings, and the man also hosts a podcast, New Heights, with his brother Jason—who, by the way, throws around pigskins for the Philadelphia Eagles. They even played against each other last year, because why not turn family dinners into competitive debriefs?
Now here’s where it gets zesty. Travis is a certified Swiftie (the irony) and Taylor is reportedly an Eagles fan (the double irony). Travis took his fangirling to the next level by attending the Eras Tour at Arrowhead and even tried to gift Taylor a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. Spoiler alert: It didn’t go as planned. But hey, love finds a way—probably through song lyrics or a Hail Mary pass; it’s still up for debate.
And just when you thought 2023 couldn’t get any weirder, Taylor was seen last Sunday at a Chiefs game, not in the nosebleeds but in the Kelce family VIP suite. Of course, the Internet did what the Internet does best: It went absolutely bonkers.
