I’m the oldest of three kids, and I never really understood how my mom and dad were able to keep their heads on straight while raising us. However, then, for some reason, I decided to have four kids myself, and now I’m still not sure how they did it or how I’m going to do it, but so far everyone is alive, fed, and has a roof over their heads, so maybe I’m doing OK?
If you’re busy trying to parent two or more little hellions you know that the struggle is hilariously real.
It’s like being a ringmaster of a tiny, sticky-fingered circus that’s always one spilled juice box away from complete chaos. You’re juggling schedules, emotions, and the ever-growing pile of laundry with the dexterity of a seasoned pro—or so you tell yourself as you step on a rogue LEGO and resist the urge to curse. Bedtime is like negotiating with pint-sized lawyers who have a Ph.D. in stalling, and you’ve become an expert at cooking three different meals in hopes that one will meet the ever-changing standards of your youngest food critic.
So here’s to you, parents of multiple kids, who understand that sometimes the best you can hope for is that the kids are in bed before you are and that coffee is a perfectly acceptable survival strategy.
