Micromanager Faces Mutiny When Employees Walk Out On Her Mid-Project

If you’ve had the unique experience of being subjected to the unrelenting micromanagement of a coworker who believed their mere presence in the office was a divine gift, then you’re familiar with the sensation of “seeing red.” It seems almost inevitable that over the course of five years in the workforce, you’ll encounter at least one individual afflicted with a god complex—or perhaps, it’s just been my unfortunate luck. Nevertheless, the tale I’m about to share revolves around a group of colleagues ensnared in a work project with such a coworker, and it certainly didn’t end well—well, not for the micromanaging coworker, that is.

Given the opportunity to dictate the actions of others, this individual eagerly embraced it. She seemed determined to push her colleagues into working overtime, despite clear instructions from the CFO to the contrary—no exceptions. As the story unfolds, one ill-conceived decision led to another, and she soon found herself trapped in the very predicament she had orchestrated. With hands dirtied and boots mired in the proverbial mud, she soon discovered that her days of managing anything were well and truly behind her.

Read on to discover the chain of events that unfolded and how she ultimately reaped what she had sown.
