As you grow up, you start to realize the outrageous lengths to which your parents went to save money. This fact became even clearer to me after stumbling upon a Reddit thread filled with stories of cheap parents and their money-saving hacks.
I have immense gratitude for my mom’s incredible efforts to maintain our home, but the number of times I, as an adult, find myself using her cheap tips, like adding a little water to the almost-empty shampoo bottle to extend its life, is both amusing and outrageous. It’s funny how these money-saving hacks from our cheap parents stick with us, and judging by this thread, I’m certainly not alone in this experience.
