Patriotism is a weird thing. There’s a fine line between loving your country and going full-on Uncle Sam. Like, imagine getting an American flag tattoo last week and already cringing at it. That’s the gamble with tattoos in general. Personally, I think patriotic tattoos should be left to the brave folks in uniform. The rest of us? We just look like we’re trying too hard.
So, in honor of July 4th, we’re showcasing the best (aka worst) American-themed tattoos. Maybe they’ll inspire you… or, more likely, they’ll convince you to steer clear of the patriotic tattoo trap altogether.
