Something about these photos of abandoned places is extremely humbling.
The way nature takes back what humanity once claimed reminds us that we are only a small part of this world. And that when we talk about “saving the Earth” we actually mean “making sure the Earth is still habitable for humans.” Because the Earth will be fine. These photos of abandoned buildings, ships, and roadways overgrown with vegetation prove that if humanity does fade away forever, we will eventually become little more than a scar.
