When I worked in retail, having customers who were kind was so refreshing. It really made up for some of the total Karens I had to deal with sometimes. Here’s a tip, if you treat employees with kindness, they’ll probably go the extra mile for you.
One time I gave someone 20 percent off because she was so nice to me. Sure, I had no authority to do that, but that’s the kind of service she deserved.
This brings me to Twitter user Jenny Cavallero. She recently tweeted about how she would give customers a huge discount when she worked at Hobby Lobby if they complimented her. It sparked a lovely thread full of other folks sharing similar stories and interactions with customers.
This type of reward shouldn’t be expected. I think we should be kind to employees regardless, but the stories are great.
