Going to go ahead and lead with saying: this is uncharted territory for a humor website. The last time someone tried to assassinate the President (unless you count the Bush shoe thing) the internet didn’t even exist.
What’s the etiquette here? What’s a website or comedian or commentator to do in the modern age? If people are tweeting absolutely hilarious bangers about it, shouldn’t it be fair game to cover a few? And if Trump himself has/is going to turn his own assassination attempt into content opportunity, why shouldn’t anyone else?
