“My Work Gave Us New ‘Remote Alarms’ That We Must Carry At All Times”

This gas station employee has been given a new “remote alarm” that has left him and his fellow employees feeling uneasy.

The old remote alarms had two simple buttons you could press to trigger a silent alarm in the event of danger. But the new ones come packed with tech, including cameras, sensors, and audio recorders. Officially, they’re supposed to keep workers safe by alerting managers if someone is incapacitated and unable to press the alarm button. But many employees see them as a way for management to keep a close eye on everyone and make sure they’re always busy. Worse yet, the devices must be on your person at all times — even during bathroom breaks.

The whole thing feels like a major invasion of privacy. So the disgruntled worker took to Reddit to vent their frustrations. Keep going for the full story and to see what the internet has to say.
