Ask any parent who has had their school-aged kids home for extended periods of time and they’ll tell you hat it can be challenging.
Now, imagine instead of 1-4 kids (your own) it’s 15-25 kids (someone else’s).
Yikes. Not exactly the kind of thing we should be paying $20/hour for, right?
And yet, average teacher pay can be as low as $20/hour in many locations, and even less than that if we’re talking about daycare providers (who I’d argue have the worst of it all because at least you don’t have to wipe a third grader’s a**.)
Not to mention, you know, exposing them to any myriad of germs and diseases so I can go about my work while they take care of business.
Anyway, I could rant for days, but instead, here are some hilariously depressing notes home I think teachers should take to their administrations and use as collateral for a raise.
