The cost of everything in America has gone up drastically. As I’m sure you’ve noticed. But what you may not have noticed is how much of the world hasn’t experienced the same drastic price hikes spurred by greedy monopolistic corporations who refuse to lower their prices despite the decrease in inflation.

The uniquely American crisis is best illustrated by comparison, which my mother always said is the thief of joy. Because it is. And that’s exactly what this TikTok does: it makes me sad and angry and frustrated that we have to pay almost double Spain’s price for a tank of gas despite our country drilling up more oil than at any other time in history. The corporate greed is unreal and I am thoroughly joyless.
