The relationship between stepparent and stepchild usually comes with plenty of friction. But this husband-to-be found himself in the middle of a huge dust-up between his daughter and fiancé that’s threatening to upend the whole wedding.
It all started when his daughter selected a dress for the wedding, where she was set to be her father’s best woman. But the fiancé deemed the dress too provocative and forbade her stepdaughter from wearing it. In retaliation, the stepdaughter destroyed the fiancé’s wedding dress, reducing her to tears.
Now the fiancé wants to ban all children and teens from the wedding. But the father says that if his daughter can’t be in the wedding, he doesn’t want to get married.
He took to the AITA page on Reddit to find out if he was in the wrong for giving his fiancé such an ultimatum. And the internet had some thoughts, including: “Dude, why are you marrying this woman!?” and “Get your stepdaughter into therapy ASAP!”
