Lazy Recruiter Tells Job Seeker They Didn’t Get Job, So Job Seeker Applies Directly And Gets Hired

Imagine being so lazy that you not only refuse to do your work, but you actively prevent other people who want to work from getting a job.

That was the case with this recruiter, who told a job applicant (u/ren272) they were rejected when in reality, the recruiter probably hadn’t even submitted the resumé.

Luckily, the applicant was suspicious of the recruiter’s efforts (or lack thereof) and applied directly.

Good news: they got the job. Bad news: the new company wants the applicant to convince the recruiter to either waive her recruiting fee or pay it themselves.

The applicant has no idea how to convince the recruiter, so they took to Reddit for advice.
