Eminem tugged at the heartstrings of his fans when he released an emotional music video for his song “Temporary” on Thursday, October 3.
The track, which has gained fame for being a tribute to his daughter and intended to be played after his passing, features touching photos and nostalgic VHS tape clips of Hailie growing up, with scenes of her father playing with, hugging, and comforting her throughout the years.
“A lot of people ask me, am I afraid of death? The truth is, I think what scares me the most is not being able to say all the things I wanna say to you when I’m no longer here. So this song is for Hailie, for when that day comes.”
“That when a heart breaks, it ain’t broken forever. The pieces will grow back together and in time, I’ll be fine. The tears are temporary.”
At the end of the video, Hailie surprises Eminem with the news that he’s going to be a grandfather. She hands him a special jersey along with an ultrasound picture of her baby, revealing the big moment.
It really is great to see Hailie thriving and Eminem being a sweet grandpa, considering how it all started.
