Say what you will about Gen Z, but they know their way around a camera phone.
When this Mom asked a Gen Z daycare teacher to take photos of her baby, the “unhinged” results left mom — and the internet — in stitches.
The mother, known on TikTok as @msmarissa7, shared a slideshow of images featuring her 2- to 3-month-old daughter in various unposed moments—mid-yawn, tongue out, and other spontaneous expressions.
Accompanied by Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely,” the video captures the genuine, unfiltered charm of infancy.
When a mom asked a Gen Z daycare teacher to take pictures of her baby, she couldn’t have predicted the hilarious results
The 28-year-old mother, who wished to keep her real name anonymous, loved the bizarrely funny pictures captured by the teacher.
“When I first received the photos, I thought that they were so funny,” she told Newsweek.
She added that her baby’s teacher sends these playful pictures daily, bringing a touch of humor to her routine.
Among the series, one image stands out to her.
“My favorite one is probably the one that makes her look like a DJ,” she said.
The young mother was shocked by the reaction on social media
Since its posting on July 18, the TikTok clip has garnered over 1.4 million views and nearly 900 comments.
One commenter said: “Newborn pictures are so unhinged because they make the most wild facial expressions.”
“As a daycare teacher I appreciate these,” added another. “So real.”
“This is the cutest Megamind I’ve ever seen,” read a third.
When a top comment asked if the teacher was Gen Z, the mother confirmed that she was.
The mother told Newsweek she was surprised how much attention the photos received.
She was also taken aback by how little people understood about childcare in the US.
“I’m honestly surprised at how many people were shocked that a baby that young was in child care, but in America, you don’t get paid maternity leave, so you don’t really have an option,” she said.
