Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States today. And of course, the tweets were on point.
Due to freezing temperatures and high winds, the ceremony was held within the Capitol rotunda, leaving the thousands of MAGA faithful who had made the pilgrimage to DC out in the cold.
Trump built his brand around being a man of the people — the everyday, ordinary American — so naturally, he took the stage surrounded by the wealthiest and most out-of-touch tech elites in the world, including Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos.
But the real stars of the show were the fits. Namely, Mealnia’s boater-style hat, which looked like it had been lifted straight from those classic Spy v. Spy comics and was worn so low that it covered her eyes. The bizarre bonnet made for an awkward and hilarious moment when Trump went in for a kiss but was obstructed by the wide, low brim (perhaps an intentional move by Melania?)
Jeff Bezos’ fiancee Lauren Sanchez also raised eyebrows with her attire — a white jacket with nothing but a lacy, booby top underneath. Even Zuckerberg couldn’t help but sneak a peek, which is probably the most human thing he’s ever done.
