Showing up right before closing and expecting full service is one of the most frustrating moves a customer can pull.
Whether it’s a restaurant, retail store, or in this case, a copy center, employees are already winding down for the night when that last-minute person strolls in, acting like they have all the time in the world.
It’s one thing if the request is quick and reasonable, but when it’s something complicated—like designing and printing business cards—it’s a recipe for disaster.
One employee (u/punk_astronaut) found themselves in exactly this situation when an entitled customer walked in at 9:54 p.m. expecting a full-on business card production service, complete with follow-up questions, adjustments, and unrealistic expectations.
Despite being told multiple times that it wasn’t possible, he refused to take the hint.
As the minutes ticked past closing, the employee realized this conversation wasn’t going anywhere.
What happened next was a lesson in standing your ground.
