Design is supposed to make our lives easier—or at the very least, not wildly more confusing. But sometimes, you come across something so baffling, it makes you wonder if the designer was just winging it on a dare. Like, how did this get past anyone? A toilet with zero privacy, a sink that sprays directly at your lap, or a stairway that straight-up goes nowhere—it’s a masterclass in “nobody thought this through.”
I don’t claim to be an expert in design, but I do know when something is straight-up awful. It’s equal parts hilarious and horrifying. Whether it’s poor planning, lack of common sense, or someone getting a little too creative, these fails are a reminder that some ideas should’ve stayed locked in the designer’s brain forever.
