I’ve been following Chris (Simpsons artist) for years now, and I still have no idea what’s going on—and I mean that in the best way possible. His single-panel comics are weird, awkward, strangely poetic, and somehow deeply relatable in a way that makes you laugh and question your entire existence at the same time.
There’s just something about the bizarre proportions, overly detailed captions, and heartfelt confusion that makes these feel like they were made by a sentient dream. I rounded up some of my favorite comics from his collection—the ones that made me laugh, wince, and whisper “what the hell” with a weird little smile.
