I’ve always had a soft spot for single-panel comics. There’s something magical about how one square can deliver a full setup, punchline, and existential crisis all at once. It’s the perfect format for anyone who wants a laugh without committing to a whole plot.
And when it comes to nailing that format, nobody does it quite like Lars Kenseth. A New Yorker cartoonist with a truly ridiculous hit rate, his work always finds that weird little corner of life that feels both totally absurd and somehow painfully familiar. Whether it’s a couple arguing mid-apocalypse or a dog with an existential dilemma, his comics hit that perfect sweet spot between clever and dumb in the best way.
If you like your laughs dry, weird, and extremely efficient, you’re gonna love this batch.
