Of all the image formats JPG is obviously the king. PNG? No thanks, I appreciate your high resolution but I’m looking at you on a mobile phone so not worth the extra download time. TIFF? What is that even? And HEIC? Don’t even get me started on Apple just making up HEIC for no reason.
JPG all the way.
And a “rare JPG”? Like the randomness over on the @Rare.JPG Twitter? That’s art. That’s culture. That’s the kind of image that shows up in your feed with no explanation, makes you laugh out loud, and haunts your brain for the rest of the day in the best way.
