I’ve loved playing Dungeons & Dragons for decades now and one thing is true of all new players I see come in — you’re going to buy multiple sets of dice. At first, any dice will do. You even borrow a set from any of the other players who have several to spare, but then, something takes hold.
There are so many different textures of dice. So many colors. Sometimes you want different dice for different characters. Sometimes a set isn’t rolling particularly well and you decide they are cursed. Time to switch to a new set.
These hilarious memes illustrate my point. Dice are as important as any other part of D&D, and players have a lot of feelings about them.
