It’s hard to even explain to gamers today what a LAN party was like. I was big into Doom and Quake, and a LAN party for these was something to behold. I mean, the smell was crazy but it was fun.
A LAN party was when you dragged your giant computer into a room with lots of other gaming geeks who did the same and hooked them all together so you could all play at the same time. Yeah, it was a lot considering how easy it is to do it remotely now. But at the time it was epic.
